UNDERSTANDING THE 4C's
The right diamond is about more than one number. Gary helps you weigh the details that matter most for your priorities, style, and budget.
Cut
The cut of a diamond refers to how shallow or deep the angles of the diamond are. It is crucial to the diamond’s final beauty and value. The cut determines how well the angles reflect the light, which directly impacts the diamonds brightness and sparkle.
Color
Color measures how white or colorless a diamond is. Many diamond color distinctions are very subtle; however, these distinctions make a very big difference in diamond quality and price.
Color will affect the overall look of a diamond, especially depending on the setting and metal you choose.
Clarity
Clarity refers to the tiny natural characteristics found inside or on the surface of a diamond. Most are not visible to the naked eye, but clarity can influence a diamond’s value, appearance and ability to reflect and refract light.
Carat
Carat is the measurement of a diamond’s weight, which is one measurement of its size. All else being equal, a diamond price increases with carat weight, because larger diamonds are more rare and more desirable. However, two diamonds of equal carat weight can have very different look, value and price depending on its shape and the other factors of the 4Cs: clarity, color, and cut.
